Two best friends, one shared obsession: unforgettable travel.
We’re Kristin and Savannah—college friends turned travel soulmates, with dozens of stamps on our passports and hundreds of itineraries between us. After more than a decade of planning our own epic adventures (and a few dozen for friends and family), we decided to turn our passion into something bigger—and Getaway Girls was born.
We believe every trip should feel intentional, effortless, and full of unforgettable moments. Whether you're dreaming of a solo escape, a luxe retreat, or an off-the-beaten-path adventure, we’re here to help you plan it all—without the stress.
Our story
We met back in 2009 at Wittenberg University, when a shared photography class turned into a fast friendship. As communication majors with minors in journalism and photography, we bonded over our love for storytelling, visuals, and exploring the world.
After college, we lived in the same city for a while, then moved apart—but distance didn’t slow us down. We started planning intentional trips to reunite and explore new destinations together. Those early getaways became a ritual—packed with good food, great photos, and travel stories we still tell today.
Over time, we became the go-to travel planners in our circles. We were always the ones getting the “Where’s your next trip?” texts. Our inboxes were filled with “Can you help me plan?” or “Where should I stay in ___?” We loved it—and after planning trip after trip, we realized we had the skills (and serious passion) to help more people travel better.
Enter: Getaway Girls.

The Detail-Driven Dreamer
With a background in project management and employee communications—and six years working at United Airlines—Kristin brings the ultimate mix of logistics and wanderlust to Getaway Girls. She's currently working in internal communications at Uber, fine-tuning her skills in clarity, organization, and people-first planning.

The Stylish Storyteller
Savannah’s love for travel started early—as a member of the Pennsylvania Girl choir, she performed abroad every summer. After studying in London and traveling across Europe and Africa, she started a career in media and advertising. She’s worked with brands like Volvo, Booking.com, and Purple, where she led the media team for four years.
